I've attached a picture which shows the way the game looks before (on the left) and after (on the right). I had to bump up the brightness and contrast a bit. If need be, use the display settings in the game to adjust brightness, contrast, and gamma. Save the file, load the game, and it should remove the sepia tone and make the color look better. #define Vibrance 0.30 // Intelligently saturates (or desaturates if you use negative values) the pixels depending on their original saturation. #define Blend 0.1 // How strong the effect should be. #define DPXSaturation 1.0 // Adjust saturation of the effect. #define ColorGamma 1.0 // Adjusts the colorfulness of the effect in a manner similar to Vibrance.

Scroll down to those sections and set the following values. If you want to see how it looks before / after, set splitscreen to 1. The top section turns things on or off depending on whether they're set to 1 or 0. Open the SweetFX_settings.txt file in a text editor. Here are the settings I found that make the game look good in my opinion:

I've played around for several hours trying to tweak the settings just right to get rid of the sepia undertone and make it more neutral while at the same time bumping up the color without making the game look oversaturated.Ĭopy the files from the SweetFX mod into your Farcry2/bin/ folder Like you said, too much saturation, brightness, etc. It's actually just the SweetFX mod with custom settings.Īnyway, the settings made it look awful. I think I'll give Infamous Fusion a blast, next time I start a new game - you've convinced me.Ok, I tried the Graphic Enhancement Suite. I like that IF still does get updated, whereas Dylan's mod's last update was nearly 4 years ago. Only things that aren't that great is removing the health bar and ammo counter. You should try it, it's still being updated, it has tweaked damage enemies take even better than Dylan's mod, it's a lot more challenging since enemies do almost the same damage to you as you do to them on harder difficulties, weapons have much higher and more realistic recoil, all cars have had an increased top speed, and a lot more. Having said that, I have heard a lot of good things about Infamous Fusion as already mentioned. You can get a better FOV when choosing a 5:4 resolution. In the Far Cry 2 console are not really switches to change the FOV, beside giving Widescreen the same FOV as 4:3. It also slows down weapon degradation to a more realistic degree, as well as the need to take malaria medicine. The Far Cry 1 and Far Cry 2 Engines are not really related. No longer do guys in shorts and a t-shirt take half a magazine to kill one to two bullets are all that are needed with the mod.
